13 Dec | French Christmas: An evening of 19th-c live music, art, champagne & canapés
Date: 13 December, 2020
Location: Vogelmorn bowling club hall, 93 Mornington Road, Brooklyn, Wellington 6023
SPACE IS LIMITED! This is a small concert in the spirit of a 19th-century Parisian salon.
Join us for a joyous and festive celebration of French culture! The evening begins with a rare opportunity to taste four multi award-winning French champagnes from Champagne Fallet Dart with a selection of French canapes to match. You’ll then enjoy a 30-minute presentation on Impressionist painting by art historian Dr. Wendy Joyce who will give you an armchair tour of French culture, art and food at the end of the 19th-century. The evening concludes with a 35-minute concert by the Quantum Femmes, Wellington’s premiere period costume chamber ensemble, presenting the exquisite and ethereal music of French Impressionist composers, Ravel, Debussy, Satie and Offenbach.
