A small group, hands-on cooking class with Barbara De la Peña,
originally from Mexico city and a passionate advocate for plant-based
cooking and chef at BGI Wellington as well as the community manager for @kaiforall.
In Mexico, some of the best food is sold by street vendors, snacks called antojitos ("little cravings"). They’re usually small, savory bites intended as precursors to the main meal or as a late-night bite after a few drinks.
Today's workshop will introduce you to a variety of these dishes in an all vegetarian menu that highlights seasonal vegetables and vibrant Mexican flavours. You'll use a tortilla press to make your own tortilla (we'll also bring along some of the best ones you can buy in Wellington so we can compare) and work in small groups to cook a variety of dishes.
Barbara will be moving to Paris in January so this is your only chance to learn her favourite recipes!
