"I see menopause as the start of the next fabulous phase of life as a woman. Now is a time to ‘tune in’ to our bodies and embrace this new chapter. If anything, I feel more myself and love my body more now...than ever before."

– Kim Cattrall, actress

Do you find yourself feeling any of the following?

I’ve gained weight but I’m not eating or exercising differently from how I was before.

I have no energy or motivation. I feel as if I’ve lost who I am.

I can’t remember the last time I had a night of uninterrupted sleep.

I lose my train of thought and struggle to remember the simplest things.

I feel anxious, overwhelmed, and my confidence is at an all-time low.

Chances are, if you’re over the age of 40, these symptoms might be due to the hormonal changes brought on by perimenopause and menopause. Until recently, women were told to just ride it out. Well, what if you don’t want to suffer for a decade? What if we told you there were tried and tested changes in your lifestyle and diet that could help alleviate some or all of these symptoms?

Join Dr. Jane Knight*, a Wellington-based GP with a special interest in menopause and women’s health, in this half-day workshop focussed on proven ways to support you and the women in your life through this sometimes challenging transition. Dr. Knight will discuss the physiology of perimenopause and menopause, and how to navigate each stage with confidence. She’ll also explore treatment options including prescription HRT, bioidentical hormones, herbal medicine, and key nutrients that can support women during this time of life.

After an introductory session with Q & A, Dr. Knight will be joined by Chef Wendy Joyce, founder of Savour Cooking School, in discussing how the food and lifestyle choices we make on a daily basis have a huge impact on hormonal balance, weight, focus, quality of sleep and energy levels. We'll touch on key nutrients, vitamins and minerals to include in your diet to help you thrive during this transitional period.

We'll then head into the kitchen to learn flavour-packed, nutrient-dense, simple and delicious recipes to help banish brain fog, ease anxiety and support your overall well-being during menopause. This part of the workshop includes a cooking demo plus some hands-on elements if you're keen to get involved, followed by a shared tasting of the dishes we've made together.

During the workshop, we will serve hormone-balancing and bone strengthening tisanes (herbal infusions made from organic herbs grown in the Savour bio-dynamic gardens) and a floral kombucha containing crucial probiotics. Together, we'll make a selection of nutrient-packed snacks and simple dishes to enjoy at the end of the workshop in the dining room, and give you the recipes to make these at home again.

This workshop is for women of all ages who want a clearer understanding of how our monthly cycles, and their eventual cessation, influence our mood, mental state, cravings and nutritional needs, and to learn proven ways to re-establish hormonal balance, empowering you for the next phase of your life.
