Description:
Are you curious about how you can mix your own beautiful, delicious mocktails with homemade syrups, ferments and botanical infusions? Join Chef Wendy who has spent the past months doing a deep dive into the subject of low alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks, research for a training she's creating for the staff of Hapuku Lodge to assist them in the creation of their non-alcoholic beverage menu. Wendy will first teach you how to make the base syrups, oleos, shrubs, and native bitters before diving into the art and science of botanical mixology.
Wendy will teach you the skills and recipes you need to stock your drinks pantry with truly unique botanical ingredients. Once we've learned how to make the base components, we'll get classy designing our mixed drinks and making them in fancy glasses with garnishes and hydrosols.
You'll leave the workshop with a botanical syrup, a vinegar shrub, a native foraged bitters, and a bottle of Savour kombucha as your starter kit. Bonus: we'll offer organic herbs from our garden to infuse your syrups with beautiful flavours and medicinal properties.
All levels are welcome as this is a basic workshop suitable for total beginner.
